The Coalition is conducting a national survey to document community-based heritage language schools in the United States. This is the first survey that attempts to reach out to and document this specific set of schools and students. Survey results provide important data about these schools -- their key features, challenges, and accomplishments.

Here is the latest information that we have collected about these schools, reported at ACTFL 2018. The 2011 U.S. Census reports that more than 350 languages are spoken in homes in the United States. We have documented 36 languages taught in community-based schools (as of November, 2018). We have a ways to go! Please join us in this effort. Coalition Schools Presentation

Association of Chinese Schools (ACS) holds its annual conference each May during Memorial Day weekend; locations vary.
Chinese School Association in the United States (CSAUS)
National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools (NCACLS) holds its annual conference each August; locations vary. More information is on their website.
Czech Schools in North America holds its annual conference each June; locations vary.
German Language School Conference holds its Annual Professional Development and Networking Conference each November in New York City.
