Levi Thompson is the co-founder of TahrirDocuments.org. He is a PhD student in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures where he studies Arabic literature. He is currently exploring the development of modernism in Arabic poetry. His other academic interests include pre-modern Arabic and Persian literature, translation, and literary criticism. Levi has a Masters in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and was a 2010-2011 Fellow at the Center for Arabic Study Abroad in Cairo.

He is also the recipient of a Summer Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship for Arabic (2008), an Academic Year FLAS for Persian (2008-2009), a Summer FLAS for Persian (2012), and an Academic Year FLAS for Persian (2012-2013).
